Gents, no man in his right mind would drive his car until it just stopped running. That would be stupid, you scoff. There are guys out there who put gas in the tank and only every now and then check the oil. Beyond that, they’re rolling the dice.
How many of us live our married lives like that? We toss out the obligatory “I love you” once a week or so like we’re fueling the tank. Some of us actually go so far as to go on a date from time to time like checking the oil. But how many of us really love our wives? How many of us love rolling up our sleeves and delving into our marriage seeking to make it hum with a passion akin to Tim the Toolman working on the hotrod in his garage?
Our marriages need far more attention than our cars! The debris of ruined relationships is strewn across the American landscape and within American churches. Many of our own marriages are in desperate need of a tune-up.
